Tourism Victim Support Training supported by the UK Consulate
A good relationship exists between BACWC and the United Kingdom Consulate in the Cape Town. In the latter part of 2018, we approach them to invest in victim support for foreign tourist to the greater Cape Town area.
After long negotiations it was agreed that they would fund a Victim Support training course for role-players in the tourism industry. The training occurred over the period three day (06 to 08 August) at the Newlands Southern Sun Hotel. An external trainer was contracted to facilitate the training to the 17 people.
Key role-players in making this training a reality were Shawn Koen, programme manager, of our office and Consular Regional Deputy Director, Sub-Sahara Africa, Elizabeth Walker and Vice Consul, British Consulate General, Cape Town, Stewart Miller and Doni Muller from Human Capital Development, Specialist Coach, Facilitator, Trainer and Assessor.
